POSSIBLE FUTURES: Intergenerational work towards the pluriverse

  • Day 2: Dec 15 (UTC+8) 1:30 pm-3:00 pm

POSSIBLE FUTURES

POSSIBLE FUTURES curates spaces to build understanding and solidarity across the Global South. We hold space for unseen, unheard narratives to emerge and environments for overarching Global South narratives to emerge as legitimate alternatives to the Global North’s dominant, re-colonising ideas of “sustainable development” and “planetary regeneration”.

POSSIBLE FUTURES is an endeavour that aims to make visible the South’s stories and narratives of a history of colonisation and oppression, and formulate regenerative narratives relevant to the South’s complex, diverse contexts and cultures. In holding space for these stories to emerge, we build our way through the generations towards planetary regeneration. This session will be a continuation of POSSIBLE FUTURES dialogues, focussing on the topic of intergenerational work required in bringing about the pluriverse of regeneration.

In this session, we held space for a panel discussion, followed by an artist feature, and then self-facilitated break-out rooms, before a collective reflection and hosts’ reflection, ending with a final artist feature. To capture discussions in breakout rooms, we encouraged participants to summarise discussion points within a co-created Mural.

This dialogue aims to build understanding and solidarity across the Global South – to hold space for unseen, unheard narratives – that have been held back by centuries – to emerge. We seek to create space for overarching Global South narratives to emerge as legitimate alternatives to the Global North’s dominant, re-colonising ideas of ‘sustainable development’ and ‘planetary regeneration’.
