Creative Corner: Omnipresence of Art

Reshaping conventional notions of activism through the kaleidoscope of art, our Creative Corners host a diverse range of artists, creatives and activists from the Global South. Embark with us on a journey of films, songs, live performances and art in all its vibrant manifestations as a contemporary tool of feminist activism.

Meggy Katigbak is a women’s rights advocate, researcher, and artist. She is currently taking her MA in Women and Development at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. Her research interests include women, women’s labour, and women’s economic empowerment. She also currently works as an HR generalist in the private sector. In her free time, she teaches yoga.

In this session, Meggy shared her art and how she connects it to her activism. Participants also had the chance to experience an interactive session guided by Meggy, where they created a blueprint of possible artistic endeavours they would like to use in their campaigns.
