An introduction to IWRAW Asia Pacific’s Gender Equality and Macroeconomics Toolkit. This session will help participants to critically think about the effects of national macroeconomic policies on women & girls’ access, exercise and enjoyment of human right and to create space for exchanging ideas on gender-responsive COVID-19 macroeconomic policies.
After a brief introduction to the toolkit & the topics of “Gender Equality and Macroeconomics”, we’ll start our exercise of looking at two hypothetical countries with a set of COVID-19 macroeconomic measures with varying degrees of gender responsiveness. The policies selected to be discussed will be based on real life, already implemented policies. Relying on the resources gathered at Feminist COVID Response to Covid-19, the exercises will consider the impact of real life, already implemented policies and use a Miro board to work with participants to come to a 'purple standard' of what a gender responsive, feminist macroeconomic policy set against the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic should look like.

Arabic interpretation will be available.
